I’m not going to hold my breath, but I really hope someone asks Mitch why he opened the ark of the Covenant

Any thoughts you might want to share? I will watch some of it later, but I fear that no matter what McGrath says won’t move the needle for Kentucky. The narcotic that Kentucky has been on for far too long keeps McConnell in power and I don't think the people are ready for rehab.

Even from the thumbnail I was like “hah, whos that turtle guy?”

What’s the narcotic that Mitch is providing? Is he bringing home the bacon like Byrd used to do for WV (you should see the roads there )? Median income in KY is $26k, that means that half the people in the state make LESS THAN $26k. What is he actually doing for people there?

The only winner is people selling advertising spots in Kentucky media markets

And in case anyone wondered what McConnell thinks of coronavirus:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I actually don’t think Mitch likes Trump, he just finds him a useful idiot . Trump is a rubber stamp for anything Mitch wants to do and he attracts all the attention so Mitch’s work can stay in relative obscurity.

You spelled “Subverting the intent of checks & balances in the Constitution and using the power of the Senate to (among other things) suppress voter turnout, put unqualified conservative judges in lifetime appointments, and ensure white supremacist minority rule for another generation” wrong.

I’ve seen polling that puts McConnell at as little as eight points ahead. Still, that’s eight points...
McGrath is a political outsider. She has obvious military credentials, but prior to 2018's House race, she didn’t have political experience. A Senate seat carries more importance than a House seat, and much more than a state legislative position. It’s odd to me that she was able to defeat Booker in primaries despite his numerous endorsements and experience.
My expectation for the election is that McConnell will win. Maintaining his position in the Senate is highly important for the Trump administration, and I think most Kentucky voters know this, and it is a major reason for them to vote for or against him.
As far as debate performance goes, from what I’ve seen of the debate, McGrath didn’t perform as well as media is claiming- certainly her demeanor was better than McConnell’s, but she still lacks the composure and oration skill one would desire in a legitimate challenger. She even appeared poorly spoken IMO in her own highlight reels posted on social media.

I also had a chuckle at the idea of Marines tackling the coronavirus pandemic. Semper Fi!

Booker entered t he race too late, just before the deadline to register, and then he only campaigned in Louisville and Lexington.
He should’ve just endorsed Broihier instead. Mike Broihier is a farmer (and also a Marine) that could’ve grabbed the crucial rural votes from Mitch. Oh and also, Broihier filed around the same time McGrath did, which was 6 months before Booker.
Mitch would’ve CRUSHED Booker because of that. Broihier would’ve actually had a chance against McConnell. And as you see with the polls, McGrath is somewhere in between.

I don’t know. Primary results showed Broihier carried less than five percent of the state, and won zero counties. I’m not a Kentucky resident, so all of my knowledge of the race is after the fact. I have a few friends from NKY area who were frustrated at McGrath’s victory over Booker, but IMO NKY has much more in common with Cincinnati than it does the rural areas. I guess we’ll see how it goes next month.

Oh trust me, I know. But this is simply how many people justify their decision making.

I skipped through it on mute to catch some prime Mitch gobble gobble neck action. I was not disappointed.
